CUMPLIMIENTO CON NORMAS DE OSHA PARA EVITAR LA INFLUENZA HUMANA AH1N1
Durante los pasados días, se ha estado hablando sobre la Influenza Humana Tipo AH1N1, pero poco se ha mencionado sobre la responsabilidad del patrono. Aunque, OSHA ha dejado la atención de esta enfermedad a las autoridades de Salud de los Estados y no pretende comenzar un programa de inspecciones, existen varias normas de OSHA que el patrono debe mantener en cumplimiento para evitar que su centro de trabajo se vea afectado por este virus.
Para la Industrial General: (que es toda industria no dedicada a la construcción) debe cumplir con las siguientes normas:
1910.132(d)(1)
The employer shall assess the workplace to determine if hazards are present, or are likely to be present, which necessitate the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
1910.141(a)(3)(i)
All places of employment shall be kept clean to the extent that the nature of the work allows.
1910.141(b)(1)(i)
Potable water shall be provided in all places of employment, for drinking, washing of the person, cooking, washing of foods, washing of cooking or eating utensils, washing of food preparation or processing premises, and personal service rooms.
1910.141(b)(1)(vi)
A common drinking cup and other common utensils are prohibited.
1910.141(d)(2)(ii)
Each lavatory shall be provided with hot and cold running water, or tepid running water.
1910.141(d)(2)(iii)
Hand soap or similar cleansing agents shall be provided.
1910.141(d)(2)(iv)
Individual hand towels or sections thereof, of cloth or paper, warm air blowers or clean individual sections of continuous cloth toweling, convenient to the lavatories, shall be provided.
La Industria de la Construcción debe cumplir estrictamente con las siguientes normas:
1926.51(a)(4)
The common drinking cup is prohibited.
1926.51(f)(1)
The employer shall provide adequate washing facilities for employees engaged in the application of paints, coating, herbicides, or insecticides, or in other operations where contaminants may be harmful to the employees. Such facilities shall be in near proximity to the worksite and shall be so equipped as to enable employees to remove such substances.
1926.51(f)(2)
"General." Washing facilities shall be maintained in a sanitary condition.
1926.51(f)(3)
"Lavatories."
1926.51(f)(3)(i)
Lavatories shall be made available in all places of employment. The requirements of this subdivision do not apply to mobile crews or to normally unattended work locations if employees working at these locations have transportation readily available to nearby washing facilities which meet the other requirements of this paragraph.
1926.51(f)(3)(ii)
Each lavatory shall be provided with hot and cold running water, or tepid running water.
1926.51(f)(3)(iii)
Hand soap or similar cleansing agents shall be provided.
1926.51(f)(3)(iv)
